Fossil Shark Teeth of the World
Published in Paperback by Lamna Books (06 February, 2002)
Average review score:

Excellent Guide to Fossil Shark TeethFinally a very comprehensive shark tooth identification book that covers over 85 species and covers them correctly. I found very few mistakes of any kind in this book when it comes to ID, nicknames, ages, localities, etc. which is almost never done! Each identified species shows accompanying photos (several of each species showing different positions usually) and is written in plain English so it can be easily understood by amateurs. Plus it's small size will enable it to be well-utilized in the field unlike most ID books.
An excellent guideA well organized and easy to use guide for all fossil collectors, whether a novice or an expert in the field. I found the pictures to be very clear and helpful in identifying the different fossil shark teeth. Also, the descriptions and charts are very easy to understand. Anyone using this guide will enjoy the author's excitement for fossil collecting. This book is a must for anyone interested in marine life and fossils.
A CONSUMMATE GUIDE FOR COLLECTORS AND RESEARCHERSAs a researcher deeply involved in natural history, as well as a lover of fossils, I have found this book to be the most comprehensive work on the subject of fossil shark teeth. The author has done what so few guides and record books do-- he covers all the available data on his subjects. This includes both common and scientific names that are no longer considered accurate. But by doing so Joe Cocke provides us with the full spectrum on this topic. I only wish other authors would do the same.

The Princeton Review: Sat Math Workout (Princeton Review Series)
Published in Paperback by Villard Books (July, 1995)
Average review score:

Princeton Review SAT Math WorkoutI thought that this book was extremely helpful in preparing for the SAT's. Having read the other reviews on this book I must disagree with some of the comments that were made. This is a review book and not meant to make up for lack of effort in previous math classes. It cannot teach you everything but I found it to be very helpful in improving my score from the PSAT's to the SAT's. For the one reviewer who thought this was the wrong book for anyone who wanted over a 650, he is wrong. I got a 620 on math PSAT's but a 740 on my math SAT's. This improvement I owe greatly to the review done with this book.
The bestI used this book in 9th grade and got a 700. Nothing else needed to be said. The best I've found.
Excellent SAT Math Prep BookThe Sat Math Workout contains information and test taking skills vital to one's improvement on the SAT math. They cover the needed information from arithmetic to algebra to geometry and they include test taking methods for the average to above average person to effectively do well against the clock. The book has hundreds of test sections, all of varying degrees of difficulty. At the end of the book, you should be able to see your improvement right in front of your own eyes!

Cracking the Nte, 1997
Published in Paperback by Princeton Review (September, 1996)
Average review score:

Cracking the NteCracking the NTE is a cute attempt to give the teacher candidate "tips". My advice is treat college students as adults. They had to pass the SAT before they got to this point. While cracking the SAT gets much better grades the CRACKING name as applied to the NTE Professional Knowledge is not in debth. It is stronger than Kaplan for content, weaker on sample tests, inferior to A.S.A.P. Abstracts Publishng. This little known company was found at
http://mypage.ihost.com/asap. It had 189 pages and had references for 1997. The ETS TAG series is a starting point but reads more like a table of contents. I liked ETS because it had percentages of questions coming from that section. You can find ETS at most certification offices. I review study guides for a living. I will be happy to review any field for free. Just call 561-243-6080.

Cracking the Praxis II: Nte (Princeton Review Series)
Published in Paperback by Princeton Review (September, 1997)
Average review score:

None of these Tests Are GivenNone of the tests in this book are given anymore. There is no reason to buy it.
Waste of time and moneySome tips are hepful but the practice exams are a real let down because there's no explanation of the answers. Most helpful to me in the math section. Too expensive for what little you get out of it. It really doesn't address middle grade professional knowledge. Better skipped to find a more useful study/resource guide.
PLT (K-5) and Elementary Education (1-8) - Praxis IIThis book appears to be good if you have to take the core battery tests. However, it does not provide any information concerning the tests on elementary education 1-8 or the principles of learning and teaching (PLT) tests which are other sections of the Praxis II. It is also the requirement for the State of Ohio.
